FltPlan is now part of the Garmin Connext® System, offering flight plan transfer capability from the FltPlan Go iOS app through Garmin's Flight Stream 510 and 210 using GTN 650/750 and GNS 430W/530 series avionics. The integration also encompasses a range of Garmin ADS-B products allowing FltPlan Go users to receive and display traffic, weather, and GPS data directly to the FltPlan Go iOS app. Flight plans can also be transferred to the Garmin Pilot app from FltPlan Go iOS.
The integration is designed to streamline flight planning and enhance efficiency and accuracy for FltPlan and Garmin customers. FltPlan Go Android app compatibility is expected to be available soon.

Check your winds and fuel burn with one altitude and aircraft, then use the drop–down menu to see what the data would be at another altitude or with a different aircraft.
MOS forecasts provide weather data for up to four days out, presented in 3 hour windows, and refreshed hourly. MOS forecasts include important and practical details necessary for pre–flight planning such as temperature, ceiling height, visibility, wind speed and direction, the probability of precipitation, and the precipitation type. Potentially significant, location–specific factors such as terrain characteristics and weather anomalies, not accounted for in traditional forecasts, are factored into the MOS forecast.
FltPlan's MOS weather on FltPlan Go is unique because your route of flight is displayed, along with the easy to read, color–coded MOS forecast, for the actual time that you are flying. MOS forecasts are available for 2,000–plus airports. If your location does not have a MOS forecast, we provide information for the nearest MOS reporting airport.
The FAA requires operators to submit an operations manual to qualify for use of a mobile device. FltPlan has partnered with Aviation Manuals to offer reasonably-priced, custom manuals for operators to submit to obtain the required authorization.
The FAA policy for EFBs has been updated, making it even easier for you to choose FltPlan Go once you are approved. According to the newly revised OpSpec A061, operators no longer need to list specific authorized EFB software. Once you've submitted your operations manual and have been approved for A061, you can switch to FltPlan Go without FAA approval.

FltPlan Go, FltPlan.com's free EFB app for iPad, now supports DAC International's GDC64 Tablet Aircraft Interface Unit (TAIU). FltPlan Go users can transfer a wealth of information, including GPS position, heading, altitude, speed, and track information as well as onboard XM Satellite weather from their avionics into the FltPlan Go app.
The most recent update to FltPlan's U.S. Flight Release NavLog format and Canadian Operational Flight Plan (OFP) allows for a digital signature. This premium option also includes columns for the operator's name, contingency fuel, enroute reserve, hold reserve, and pilot signature. The Flight Release NavLog conforms to the requirements of FAR Part 121.687 and 125.403, while the Canadian OFP is compliant with Transport Canada 5.02 requirements. FltPlan has offered U.S. Historical Winds for trip planning since 2005. Now we also include International Historical Winds. Whether you're flying from Denver to Des Moines or from Boston to Barcelona, FltPlan can provide you with historical winds with 90% predictive accuracy. FltPlan's Historical Winds work for all of Europe, so even if we don't file flight plans to your destination, you can still use our wind data to plan your trip. Just go to Main Menu > Flight Planning > Quick Info, choose the date of your trip, and enter your departure and arrival airports. We'll provide you with the Best Possible Winds, Worst Possible Winds, and Average Winds. With FltPlan's proprietary program, there is a 90% probability that your flight time will fall between the best and the worst. Besides being date specific, all information is based on aircraft performance for your specific aircraft.
FltPlan Go's new HowGozit is the companion tool for our highly accurate NavLog. HowGozit gives you real time progress of how your flight is proceeding along your route. When you pass a point, just enter your time over the fix and fuel on board. HowGozit will not only give you an accurate new ETA, it will let you know your planned fuel on board upon landing. If you have GPS on your device, HowGozit automatically gives you the time over the fix, eliminating the need to manually enter it. The numbers are based on our precise NavLog figures and not just your current ground speed. You can use this feature in Maps by displaying your route in My Routes, tapping on split-screen (blue square icon with two arrows), then tapping on HowGozit. You can also use this feature in NavLogs by tapping on the split-screen and selecting HowGozit.
FltPlan has added a new feature, SMS Safety Share, to their SMS program. SMS Safety Share is a place where SMS users can anonymously share thoughts on events and receive input from other flight departments on issues affecting their operations. The goal of SMS Safety Share is to create a resource for flight departments who wish to gain insight into how others are handling issues from hazardous waste, to equipment failure, to difficult passengers. The SMS Safety Share button appears on the upper left of the SMS dashboard.
FltLogic is the only flight scheduling program that integrates with FltPlan.com and offers an innovative, widget-based design that allows users to customize their desktop view. FltLogic's interface provides users quick access to the information and functions that they need.
With FltLogic, schedulers can create and edit trips, add passengers, and view, print, and email trip sheets from the color-coded calendar. FltLogic delivers the accurate and reliable departure and arrival times, and estimated times enroute that FltPlan users expect. When an event is created, information is transferred between the pilot's account and the scheduling program instantaneously. Automatic notifications are sent to the pilot and crew when an event is created, when changes are made, the day prior to the flight, and four hours prior to the trip. Events can be viewed by month, week, aircraft, or pilot. FltLogic logs actual flight times, including a breakdown of block time and flight time, and will even log the amount of fuel burned and purchased.
Our newest Premium Service, FltPlan Manager, now allows large flight departments, flight management companies, charter operations, and fractionals to manage multiple FltPlan.com accounts under one management control account. This allows company department heads, as well as schedulers and dispatchers, to easily see what flights are scheduled in each user's account and to make modifications when necessary.

FltPlan has been filing Canadian IFR flight plans for years, and now you can use FltPlan to file your VFR flight plans to Canada, intra Canada, and departing Canada for the U.S. Just create your flight plan and select it for filing, and we will send it to Nav Canada. All you need to do is contact Nav Canada to both activate and close the flight plan. FltPlan provides a telephone number to Nav Canada on the NavLog. They can offer valuable information on the area into which you are flying. Since FltPlan has access to flight history and contact information, our support staff is available 24/7 to assist Nav Canada if the need arises.
There is a new phone number in red print on the upper right side of the NavLog. This is FltPlan's new Clearance Hotline number. On the rare occasion that ATC doesn't have your clearance, you can use this number to contact FltPlan. We will immediately ask your username and check your account to see what the problem is. When warranted, we will refile the flight plan. This number is specifically for clearance issues; no other questions will be answered, as the line must be kept free for pilots with immediate clearance concerns.
FltPlan has released a Windows 10 version of their free FltPlan Go app. This release of the popular app is the first EFB app developed specifically for the Windows 10 platform. In addition to powerful flight planning and management tools, the Windows 10 version features 3-D mapping and perspective capabilities. This portability will appeal to users who prefer the convenience of an app, but don't want to be limited to a small device. Connectivity options include Baron XM Weather, Avidyne, and Dynon Avionics.
FltPlan’s comprehensive SMS (Safety Management System) program meets Europe and Canada’s requirements for turbine equipment. For those unfamiliar with SMS, it is a systematic approach to managing the day-to-day hazards and risks associated with running a safe flight operation. It also sets into place a program that engages both management and employees in the quest to constantly improve the safety of their operation.
The growing number of pilots flying special operational missions like aerial surveying, photography, and mapping has led FltPlan to incorporate the use of KMZ, KML, and CSV files. FltPlan Go can now open and parse these files and display their contents on the Maps page. Additionally, you can tap on a point and easily add it to your route or save it as a custom waypoint. Import these files onto your iPad/iPhone for use in flight.
We now offer METAR decoding and visual color-coded METARs. Customize the color-coded METARs to fit your specific flying requirements by setting your own range for each of the four options available: ceiling, visibility, winds, and temperature.
The updated eLogbook program lets users add photos to any entry. The eLogbook is a responsive, multi-platform design and works on any desktop, laptop, iOS or Android device. Since the logbook is accessible anywhere, anytime it is something pilots can keep for a lifetime. As always, your data is stored on FltPlan’s servers, rather than on your device, and no subscription is required to use the program.
Pilots now have the capability to view "at-a-glance" graphical charts of their currency, including flying trends, landings per year, past flights, and flight times, providng a quick way to view all information in one place. The graph can be easily customized based on aircraft make and model, timeframe, and aircraft type. In addition, as a business tool, pilots can upload documents such as fuel, hotel, and meal receipts and other related expenses directly to a specific flight. This allows for the uploading of important documents as opposed to just photos for formal record keeping.
FltPlan's Airport Information page now includes FBO addresses, phone and fax numbers, and frequencies. FBO addresses can be found on both FltPlan.com and our free FltPlan Go apps. This information has been displayed on the Pax Briefing for some time. It can be a great help in finding some of those out-of-the-way locations at the airport by copying and pasting the address into a mapping website such as Google Maps, making finding the FBO location a breeze. On the web, go to Main Menu > Airports & FBOs, then enter your airport ID.
XM Weather has been rolled out to our Android and iPhone FltPlan Go apps. XM Weather includes visibile and infrared satellite images, surface anaylsis, and radar weather which allows cloud cover and echo tops to be viewed directly on the maps. With Velocity Weather by Baron, FltPlan offers U.S. and Canadian weather data, superior quality graphics, and selectable overlays for routes and maps.
FltPlan's web-based Map Builder now includes National Convective Weather Forecast (NCWF) Weather. NCWF Weather provides current convective hazards and 1-hour extrapolation forecasts of thunderstorm hazard locations. The hazard field and forecasts update every 5 minutes. FltPlan's Map Builder allows you to overlay the NCWF weather forecast onto the map with your route, displaying such hazards as thunderstorms, hail, lightning, tornadoes, and low-level wind shear. To select NCWF Weather, display your map > select Weather Layers > check NCWF Weather.
The latest update of FltPlan Go for iPhone includes the ability to view approaches directly on the map, customizable waypoints to define frequently flown lat/longs, an External section containing all connectable devices, and auto syncing capabilities to link your existing FltPlan.com account from your computer to your phone.

This feature allows viewing of Weather, METARs, and Winds directly over approach plates. The transparency of the approach plate and weather can be adjusted to allow for clear viewing of the selected base map layer.
Now, when you're using FltPlan Go for iPad or Android, you can see your Planned ATC Route on the NavLog. If the route you were given differs from the one you filed, you can easily copy and paste it into the Edit Route section.
FltPlan has just added the Dual XGPS 190 ADS-B and AHRS unit to the list of devices compatible with FltPlan Go. Don't get locked into an app that doesn't allow you to choose the best ADS-B receiver for your individual needs.
iPad version 4.2.3 has rolled out several new features. There is now the option to create and personalize custom waypoints. This update includes color coded airplanes with various aircraft types to choose from: a helicopter, a prop, and a jet. There are eight possible color combinations for the aircraft types to display on the map. The route line color has the option to be color coded.
FltPlan continues to expand the list of avionics that are compatible with FltPlan Go. The latest additions to the list are Avidyne's IFD540 and IFD440 FMS/GPS/NAV/COM system which works with iPad version 4.2.3 and with our Android Go app version 2.5.0. FltPlan Go now interfaces wirelessly with Avidyne to receive and display GPS position and flight plan information. Many additional capabilities will be added in a future Avidyne software release.
View Weather, METARs, and Winds directly over approach plates. The transparency of the approach plate can be adjusted to allow for clear viewing of the selected base map layer. This feature allows for rubber-banding so that the route of flight can be aligned with the approach path.
Found by tapping the Setting Icon on the FltPlan Go dashboard. For important messages, you will get a pop-up message when you open the app. A red number on the Settings icon will indicate the number of unread messages.
The Enhanced Route View now displays real-time information for each leg of your route. This new view shows you which leg of your route you are on, the distance to the next point, and, once airborne, will estimate the time to the next point and your destination. You can use this in conjunction with your NavLog for time comparisons of ETE and ETA.
Split Screen viewing is available on the FltPlan Go app for both Android and iPad. The new feature enables simultaneously viewing of Maps or NavLogs alongside Airport Information, Flight Instruments (AHRS), Procedures, NavLogs, and Weather.
Cloud Tops is a sight level that works using the camera on your iPad FltPlan Go app. Once your level is aligned and locked, Cloud Tops will allow you to set your distance in nautical miles to the clouds, compensating for curvature of the earth. Distances will display in green when flying above the clouds, in red if headed into or below the clouds, and in orange when close to the clouds.

You can now import your FltPlan route into your Dynon Avionics SkyView system using a USB flash drive. For more information click here.
The latest release of the FltPlan Go app features auto syncing of NavLogs, Routes from the FltPlan website. Checklists and Weight & Balance profiles are also sent to the app. This new feature allows users to move seamlessly from web to app by eliminating the download process. When you create a flight plan on the website, your NavLog, Routes, Weight & Balance calculations, and Checklists are sent to the iPad app. This simplifies the flight planning process and ensures that you have access to important pre- and in-flight information. Take your flight plan and display your route with winds aloft, TFRs, SIDs & STARs, NEXRAD weather radar, and user-defined, color-coded METARs. By simultaneously viewing the planned route of your aircraft with current conditions, you'll have the predictive information you need on a single map.
Start by creating your flight plan then, from your NavLog, select any of the following map tabs: Imagery, Sectionals, Jet Airways, and Victor Airways to access the Map Builder. Build your user-defined default specifications so when your route appears on the map, it's personalized to meet all your flight planning needs. Select from 12 different background maps, 11 map layers, and 5 possible weather layers. Route view options allow you to change the color and opacity of your route line. Directional, color-coded arrows indicate winds at the set altitude of your flight.
The Map Builder can be accessed from any device – desktop, tablet, phone or laptop. With FltPlan, there is no need to pay for costly licenses. FltPlan provides free visual and IFR charts for the U.S. and Canada for use on as many devices as you'd like.
FltPlan is now filing VFR flight plans in and out of the Washington DC SFRA zone. The airports included are: K2W5, KANP, KBWI, KFME, KGAI, KHEF, KIAD, KJYO, KNYG, KW00, KW18, MD14, KW50. This feature is easy to use, while still meeting the FAA regulatory requirements. Create your VFR flight plan to or from one of the above airports, and we will submit the flight plan in the correct format for filing. Your Active Flight Plan List will also show links to the FAA SFRA Checklist and FAA DC SFRA Course.
You can now select Center Weather Advisories (CWA), Significant Meteorological Information (SIGMETs), and Airmen's Meteorological Information (AIRMETs) to display on your weather briefing. A CWA is an unscheduled weather advisory, SIGMETs advise of meteorological conditions that are potentially hazardous to all aircraft, and AIRMETS advise of weather that may be hazardous to light aircraft and VFR pilots. These settings can be manually selected for each flight or pre-selected by using the Default Settings page. For a one-time setup fee of $50, users can customize their Passenger Briefing to include their company logo. The ability to modify and customize the Passenger Briefing gives FltPlan users flexibility in terms of what information is provided to their passengers. To create a PAX Briefing, log in to your account and, from the Main Menu, select Flight Planning > PAX Briefing.

WAC Charts can be accessed from any of the map pages on FltPlan or by selecting WAC on the mobile apps. WAC charts are especially helpful for jet and turbo prop pilots to use on mobile devices because they take up less space than sectionals and are available for offline use. FltPlan's WAC charts include Puerto Rico, Haiti, the Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, U.S. and British Virgin Islands, St. Maarten, and norther Mexico as far south as Cabo San Lucas.
The free FltPlan Go apps for iPad and Android include a ruler function. This feature can be used while on the ground for trip planning, or for measuring distances in the air. To use the measure tool, tap on the ruler icon from the header in the Maps section of FltPlan Go, and a measuring tool box will appear. Tap on the screen at the two points you wish to measure the distance between. You will see and orage line with the distance measurement between the two points. The distance will also be displayed in the measure tool box. You have the ability to select as many legs as you wish using the ruler function. The Reset button will reset your ruler measurements to zero.
FltPlan’s FREE Weight & Balance program is now on the Android FltPlan Go app. The Android app Weight & Balance tool is integrated with the Weight & Balance information on the FltPlan.com website. Therefore, users can import Weight & Balance data directly to the Android FltPlan Go app. Also, Weight & Balance data can be saved for offline use, allowing users to access their Weight & Balance data when an internet connection is unavailable.
Be sure to keep phone numbers and email addresses current to evade potential and preventable delays. In some cases, it is necessary for FltPlan to contact a pilot. There could be an emergency or an issue with a flight plan, making it necessary for FltPlan to contact a pilot. FltPlan has added multiple, customizable FRATs (Flight Risk Assessment Tool) to its Safety Management System (SMS) program. FRATs are customizable for both a flight department's operation and the department's different aircraft. Enabling users to create multiple FRATs helps users to develop the most effective and operative SMS for their organization. The Civil Air Patrol (or CAP) is the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. One of the missions of the Civil Air Patrol is the search and rescue of downed aircraft. For that purpose, they use a grid which breaks the U.S. down into specific regions by identifier so a local CAP squadron can search a specific, pre-defined area.
This new feature can be viewed online on the FltPlan.com website as well as offline on the free FltPlan Go app for Android and iPad. The Cap Grid feature, when used in conjunction with our geo-referenced sectionals, helps pilots to see where they are within the boundaries of a particular search area.
CAP Grids can be accessed on the FltPlan.com website by going to Enroute Charts and selecting the CAP Grid option. To download them for offline use on FltPlan Go, go to Downloads > Maps > Layers > Download CAP Grid. After they have been downloaded, go to Maps > Layers > CAP Search Grid.

FltPlan has added Velocity Weather by Baron Services to offer our users a selection of real-time predictive weather information. FltPlan users can integrate weather data featuring sophisticated weather graphics, with their flight plan route on high/low IFR charts and VFR sectionals. With Velocity Weather by Baron Services, FltPlan users have access to U.S. and Canadian weather data with selectable weather overlays for routes and maps.
FltPlan provides flight planning to, from, and intra Canada. Features include the Canadian Flight Supplement, VNCs (Canadian Sectionals), Canadian Airport Diagrams, Geo-referenced Approach Charts and Airport Diagrams, and Moving Maps.
FltPlan completed the Federal Aviation Administration's required rapid decompression testing for Android tablets. The tests were successful, showing the Android integrity in the event of a sudden loss of cabin pressure. Tests were conducted to an altitude of 51,000. This means your Android tablet can be FAA-approved for in-flight use.
Testing was performed on four different Android tablets made by two different manufacturers: Google Nexus, Samsung Galaxy Note, Galaxy Tab, and ASUS MeMO. View the testing video here.

FltPlan is now an approved provider of APIS data to the Mexican government.
As of January 1, 2014, Mexico now requires pilots to submit electronic Advanced Passenger Information (APIS) to the Mexican government before every flight entering or exiting Mexico. The fine for not complying can be as much as $5000.00. FltPlan submits your Mexican APIS electronically and provides a dedicated 24-hour phone number to comply with the Mexican requirement to send your electronic manifest after the cabin door is closed.

The Chart Finder also provides links for ordering individual charts or a subscription so that you can stay current.
Helicopter route charts are now offered on the FltPlan website. To find them click on the Charts and Maps link on the left side of the Main Menu page then enter your airport pair in the Sectionals with TFRs and Weather. Check Helicopter Routes in the list of available map layers. You can also access the helicopter routes from the links on the NavLog.
In addition to receiving PDCs through email or from the website, subscribers to FltPlan's PDC service can get PDCs directly from the FltPlan Android and iPad apps. For information on our PDC service click here.
Toggle TAC charts on and off and select weather radar, airspace and TFRs, state outlines, airports, victor airways, and jet airways.
